Vaccinations
Protect your kittenKittens require a number of vaccinations to keep them safe from disease. We recommend the following are given at the optimum ages, 8 weeks and 12 weeks and then a booster every 12 months. If you are unsure about your kittens vaccination history, please check with your veterinarian or breeder.
Vaccinations required: Feline Leukaemia. Feline Enteritis, Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Calcivirus infection.
Flea & Worm Control
Keep them away!Internal & external parasites can cause many problems in your new kitten. Kittens need to be wormed with an effective and palatable all wormer to ensure all 11 of these internal parasites are targeted. Kittens should be wormed at 2, 4, 6, 8 and 12 weeks of age and then every 3 months after that. It is vitally important that you stick to a strict worming regime, as these worms can not only cause pain and discomfort to your kitten, but in some cases can be passed onto your family.
Fleas too can not only upset your kitten, but once in the environment, you too are a target!
Treat your kitten with a flea control product that contains an IGR (Insect Growth Regulator) such as Pyriproxifen and an Adulticide. This way you will not only kill the fleas but prevent larvae from hatching. Provide continuous protection from fleas with an on-animal product that will kill fleas before they can lay their eggs. As only 5% of the flea problem is on the animal, ensure you treat your environment with a 12 month flea bomb, that contains an IGR (Insect Growth Regulator) such as Pyriproxifen and an Adulticide to achieve the best results.
*Please note: Many flea treatments should not be applied to kittens until they are 12 weeks old. Sometimes bodyweight plays a part, always read the instructions fully.
